Reminders
First, thank you for sharing the learning experience with me this 1st semester. I cherish that struggle that we share trying to learn and explore new things.
Second, this is a reminder for those people who are enrolled in my phil history and consti class whose names do not appear in the class list: if at the end of the day the on line grades do not reflect your names, it only means that you have not yet settled the enrollment problem with the registrar( mr. aragon, de la rea, and others)
third, those who have failed to submit their exams will get 50%. I did not accept those papers that were just submitted at CASE office(ms. carlet).
fourth, the project for epal is only until thursday (sept 27, 2012).
fourth, you may email me at cris25rivero@yahoo.com for questions.
Again, dios mabalos.

Facts:
A compulsory law was passed by the government requiring every Filipino citizen to attend school until he/she finishes high school. On the other hand, the religion of Riveroism believes that compulsory education should be limited only until grade six. The religion of Riveroism is a conservative religion that believes that the bible only requires the fundamental knowledge and that every faithful of their religion should live by the land as farmers so as to honor God.
Thus, four Riveroism families sued the Department of Education over its requirement that children be enrolled in school until the age of sixteen. The parents refused to comply by removing their children from school after they completed the grade six. The families claimed that their rights to freely exercising their religion were not being respected.
Question: Whether the country’s interest in educating citizens outweighs the religious freedom of parents to raise their children according to the dictates of their faith or vice versa.

Rizal Exhibit
We the fourth year Marketing Management and Financial Management Students held an exhibit about Rizal last July 30 – August 3, 2012 at Aquinas university of Legazpi Library. The theme of the exhibit is “Who is Rizal in your Life”. This Activity is made to showcase the creativity and talent of those students taking up SOCSCI 102 (Life and Works of Rizal) and to show other people on how this students expresses their admiration and on how they’ve been inspired by the Life and Works of Rizal. We featured there all our creations using the creative mind of this class; through art we all expresses our thoughts and ideas in creating some art that we can relate to Rizal and also to our theme, like embroiding the name of Rizal and also those especial names related to Rizal in a handkerchief, printing t-shirts with the picture of Rizal on it, making some poems, essays that they devoted to him.
We the student’s of Mr. Christian Rivero are proud and happy that we experienced that kind of class activity. With the help of this exhibit we encouraged also other college students of Aquinas University of Legazpi to also conduct this kind of activity, because based on my personal experience it is a nice and wonderful activity that will benefit not only my classmates and I but also every students and teachers in Aquinas University Of Legazpi High School and Elementary. Through this exhibit we can share them our thoughts and knowledge about Rizal. And also through this experience they may be inspired like us on how Rizal influenced other people’s lives especially in the lives of the students.
As a student enrolled in this subject I am glad, thankful and overwhelmed that I had given the chance and opportunity to know and learn more about the Life and Works of Rizal, because not everyone has given a chance to study and learn more about him, and also because for me Rizal is our pride, so we should be proud of him, we should be proud that we do have a National hero like him that did everything for his country.

Rizal: The "subversive"

Rizal: The "subversive"
Jose Ma. Sison
Me Tangere, El Filibusterismo, The Indolence of the Filipinos , at iba pa.
