schindler's list
Schindler's List is an American 1993 historical film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is a dramatized account of the true story of Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson), a German businessman who saved the lives of more than one thousand Polish Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his factories.
Liam Neeson (born 7 June 1952) is an Academy Award nominated Irish actor from Ballymena, County Antrim. Neeson is probably best known for his role as Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List (Best Picture 1993). Neeson himself was nominated in the Best Actor category that year but was beaten by Tom Hanks (Philadelphia).

departures
Departures, which won the 2009 Oscar for best foreign film, is a mix of ambition and modesty, a graceful, sometimes comical work that has transparent designs on our emotions.
Synopsis:
Masahiro Motoki stars as Daigo, an out-of-work cellist who, crushed at the breakup of his Tokyo orchestra, retreats to his picturesque northern Japan hometown to find his true calling. His first bold, life-changing move is to become a Nokanshi; a professional who ritually washes and clothes bodies prior to the funeral. While this unusual change of career gives Daigo a new purpose in life, it creates conflict with his young wife Mika (Ryoko Hirosue) and others around him.
kite runner
(again this is just part 1)
The Kite Runner is a novel by Khaled Hosseini. Published in 2003 by Riverhead Books, it is Hosseini's first novel,[1] and was adapted into a film of the same name in 2007.
The Kite Runner tells the story of Amir, a young boy from the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, who befriends Hassan, the son of his father's Hazara servant. The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of Afghanistan's monarchy through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the rise of the Taliban regime.
